Naugatuck- Richard James Neary, 66, of Naugatuck, died unexpectedly at his home July 27th, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Margie (Marques) Neary.

Richard was born in Waterbury on April 5th, 1954, son of the late Francis and Rosemary (Coen) Neary. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, class of 1972, and attended Western Connecticut State University. He was a retired warehouse supervisor, having worked for several contractors. Richard was very active in Peter J. Foley for over 30 years, serving as coach, director, and treasurer. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, served as Eucharist Minister, and was the current Pastoral Council President.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Patricia Neary of Naugatuck, and Christopher and Ashley Neary of Waterbury; grandchildren Jack Neary, Grace Neary, and a grandson due in January; his sister and brother-in-law Colleen and Andrew Cherhoniak of Lake Charles, LA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Neary.

Arrangements: Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 31st at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church.
