Richard A. Smith

Waterbury-Richard A. Smith, age 76, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital Thursday April 23, 2002 after a brief illness.

Smitty was born in Waterbury, CT on April 28, 1943, son of Doris (Smith) Lezotte and the late Robert Smith.  He graduated from Kaynor Tech and worked for Land-Jet Bus Lines until his retirement. Smitty always looked forward to going to his boat on weekends.  He also enjoyed Plainville Raceway and NASCAR.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Carolyn (Gorczynski) Smith, two sons, Michael Smith of Chester, CT and Colin Smith of Waterbury; his brother Douglas Smith and his wife Marina of Medellin Columbia, South America; two brothers in law and three sisters in law, and many close friends.  He was predeceased by his brother Donald Smith.
