Waterbury-Richard S. Smith, age 61, beloved husband of Rose (Velez) Smith, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 12, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends.

Born in Waterbury, CT on May 10, 1962, he was the son of Florence (Lee) Smith and the late Edward P. Smith.   Richard was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and had worked as a Data Engineer at United Health Group.  He will be remembered as a great man who truly loved his family.  He has many nieces and nephews who were greatly impacted by his kindness and caring nature.  Richard was always willing to lend a hand to whomever needed.

  Friends may visit with the family on Saturday November 18, 2023 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Pine Brook Assembly of God, 232 City Hill Street,  Naugatuck, CT.  A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m.   Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
