Robert Rimkoski Obituary

"Loving father, grandfather, and brother"
Naugatuck - Robert F. Rimkoski (Bob), 78, of Naugatuck, beloved husband of the late Barbara (Schwartz) Rimkoski, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, May 7th, 2021.

Robert was born in Waterbury December 8th, 1942, son of the late Felix and Genevieve (Jankowski) Rimkoski. He graduated from Naugatuck High School, class of 1961. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and the National Guard. He retired from North East Utilities where he had worked as a lineman for over 34 years. He was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and attended St. Hedwig Church.

Robert was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his relatives and friends.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife and looking for bargains at tag sales.
Robert had a great love of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, and thoroughly enjoyed sailing, boating, and the beach. He was a die-hard fan of the New York Yankees and UConn Women’s Basketball. He made a room brighter when he entered, even in later years, you knew he was there. Robert will be missed, cherished, and always remembered.

Robert is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Sherry Rimkoski, David and Patricia Rimkoski and daughter and son-in-law Christine and Darren Byrne; sister Dolores Marchlewski; grandchildren Rachel (Chris) Bailey, Jonathan Byrne, Genevieve Rimkoski, and Jacob Byrne; as well as several aunts, cousins, and nieces.

The Rimkoski and Byrne families would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Waterbury Hospital for their compassionate and loving care.
