Watertown-Robert James McEnerney, Jr., age 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday August 9, 2020. He was loving husband of Hilda (Cortes) McEnerney and shared 40 beautiful years of marriage together.
Born in Waterbury, CT on November 19, 1952, he was son of the late Robert James and Marguerite McEnerney, Sr. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Emily Waterworth and Raymond Garcia, and paternal grandparents Michael and Margaret McEnerney of Wolcott.
Bobby, as everyone liked to call him, graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1970 and Quinnipiac University in 1972 with an Associate Degree in Accounting, and a Bachelor Degree in Marketing in 1978. He was employed at Radio Shack for many years as store manager earning numerous awards through Tandy Corporation.
He enjoyed working at Power Station as a disc jockey and volunteered at the Palace and Warner Theaters for several years. Bob enjoyed watching the Red Sox, caring for his pet dog Luke, and traveling with his wife. He enjoyed taking day trips and vacations with his nieces and nephews. Bob will be remembered as a kind, humorous, and devout husband.
Besides his loving wife Hilda, he is survived by his sister Colleen Delaney and her husband Thomas of Woodbury; his niece Kelly and Matthew Hughes, and great nephew Brooks, nephew Thomas and Kristen Delaney, Jr. of West Hartford. Bobby will also be missed by his cousin and close friend Doug Codianni, mother in law Rosa, and aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers in law David and Felix, and other nieces and nephews. Although Bobby and Hilda did not have any biological children, they lovingly helped raise Joey Lam as their own.
