Thomas Gaffney

Waterbury-Thomas Gaffney, age 67, passed away on Friday September 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Waterbury, CT on November 26, 1955, he was the son of the late Francis and Barbara (Green) Gaffney.  Tom attended local schools, was a 1974 graduate of Naugatuck High School, and lived most of his life in Naugatuck.  He retired from Yellow Roadway Company and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 677 and served as union steward.  He loved his children, grandchildren, and his extensive family in Rhode Island, as well as his beloved dogs.  Tom enjoyed playing golf and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan.

Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas G. Gaffney of Waterbury, and Jenna Morin-McKelvey of New Hartford; his ex-wife and forever friend Cindy Lee of Waterbury; his brothers Michael Gaffney of Naugatuck and Francis Gaffney, Jr. of Enfield; his sister Margaret Gaffney of Waterbury; his loving granddaughters Brianna and Alexa Morin; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers Eddie, Andrew and Gary Gaffney.

His funeral will be held on Monday September 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street in Naugatuck.
