Robert G. Schlesinger, 62, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Waterbury Hospital.
He was born on November 17, 1953, the son of the late William F. and Frances (Else) Schlesinger.
He worked as a construction worker for John J. Brennan for 30 years.
Robert loved fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, helping friends, drinking beer, and being with family and friends. He also loved camping, going on cruises, woodworking, and working with his hands. Robert was a member of the Eagles Club.
Robert is survived by his wife and best friend, Laurel (Pikula) Schlesinger, and his son, Jason Schlesinger. He also leaves behind three sisters: Linda Schlesinger, Deborah Schlesinger, and Georgann Kozlowski, three grandchildren: Ethan Schlesinger, Emily Kupec, and Elizabeth Lapke, his mother-in-law, Frances Pikula, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Fitzgerald – Zembruski / Naugatuck Valley Memorial Funeral Home from 4pm to 7pm. Burial is private, and at the convenience of the family.
