Blanche E. (Esteen) Jones

WATERBURY - Blanche Elizabeth (Esteen) Jones, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital.

Blanche was born in Tickfaw, LA on May 5, 1940, daughter of the late William Paul Esteen, Sr. and the late Lucy Landry Smith.  She had lived the majority of her life in Danbury, and had worked at Stop & Shop for over 30 years prior to retiring.  She enjoyed music, travel, baking, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Blanche is survived by her son, Tyrone Jones of Hamden; daughters, Bettina Jones of Stamford and Deidere Farley of Middlebury; brothers, William, Jr., Ronald and Kevin; sisters,   Alfreda, Jacqueline, Lillian,  Gwendolyn, Rosalind and Marilyn; grandchildren, Kevin, John Paul, Jaydon and Ava; great-granddaughter, Olivia; a dughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin, Gerald and Kenneth, and Margaret Esteen, who shared a special relationship with Blanche.

A funeral service will be held on Monday December 22, 2014 at 5:30p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.  Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4p.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
