I am now living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but had the real pleasure of knowing John through the Valley Vagabonds. I am very sorry about his death, but very glad I had a chance to know him. I thank Liz Weeks for sending me a copy of his obituary.

Our condolences to John's family. He will be remembered by those of us who walked with him for many years to come.
We joined the Valley Vagabonds in Nov 2009 and walked many miles with John. Learning trees, flowers and enjoying the trails. John is now on a new trail watching over us.

We followed John on many trails through the years. He was a true lover of nature and an inspiration for all of the Valley Vagabonds. A knowledgeable leader, a gentle soul, and a good friend, John will always have a special place in our hearts.

So very sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a gentleman and a gentle soul. I have wonderful memories of John as I would often see him at Hop Brook over the years, giving nature tours and expert interpretation of the surrounding area. It was always a pleasure talking with him and it was an honor to have known him. My deepest sympathy to you.
